I received an email a couple of months ago from a stylist named Elisa Goodkind. She reached about because she was starting a new video website called Style Like U all about peoples individual style and wanted to feature some of the people from my book, THE YOUNG AND THE BANGING. So what she does is go to the persons house, usually their bedroom or their closet, takes her camera out, and starts to record as they try on different outfits and asks them about each piece and accessory. What I think is most interesting about these short clips is how much people reveal about their personal lives through their style, like their family values and life experiences and even smaller tidbits like how someone likes their pants to hang over their shoes. Since then I’ve watched her project grow into a unique outlet for self expression through fashion in a format(video) difficult to upkeep over a period of time. I’m really happy for Elisa and I feel this can and will turn into so much more! Below are a couple of people from TY&TB, including myself.
