i really love food

Style, Travel, Very New York

it seems me and all of the people around me have such a love for food these days. foodies everywhere. ever since i’ve graduated from college, ive had more time to explore the many great restaurants around the city. from the local secret spots to the bigger, well known restaurants. morticia works for lefooding.com here in france. for the past week, they hosted “la semaine du fooding” (the fooding week). a week long event to celebrate the essence of food. they set up their kitchen in a 5 room hotel near place de clichy, and cooked for the guests each day of the week. the entire event was sponsored by San Pellegrino. the menu changed each day, so guests were treated with surprises every night. the last night they had ribs, smashed black beans, plantains, salad with home made crutons, a sliced avacado dish, baked chicken and a corn / mushroom saute. for desert they had a coconut cake and some guava with coconut shavings. a lot of wine, s.pellegrino and bottles of Rum from Martinique floating around where people could make their own rum shots with lime and brown sugar. the event was really small, only about 30 people, so it was a really intimate setting. what really caught my attention was the crowd they brought out and the music they were playing. a lot of young, good looking people all socializing, eating amazing food while listening to biggy, tupac, reggae and more. and it was all FREE. cant beat that! down to organize something like this with me in new york? lets do it! morticia tells me the next food party will be held in a very posh elementary school. reminds me of PS1 in new york, and PS1 kills it.
